Out of competition animation program
10 April, 14:00 - Korpus8, 9 Masherava Ave.

The animation programme stands apart from the others, which, however, is not surprising. The sharp contrasts, along with the unlimited flow of imagination, in a way, succeed in bringing the most sincere images to life. Things are simultaneously bitter and cheerful here, because that is how we memorize the world we live in. And now we can see it captured by numerous talented people from all around the Globe.

What Happens in Your Brain if You See a German Word Like...? / Zora Rux ( Germany, 5 min)

The german language is very flexible: one can simply string words together in order to create new ones. And if need be, these words can become very long. Director Zora Rux blends animation and liveaction in order to make a humorous and strawling account of what happens inside the brain of a man reading an extremly complex word. Gently mocking the intellectual language of the Franfurt theorists, the film investigates how different language structures affect the way we think.
